Get Involved with Handfuls of Purpose
Handfuls of Purpose provides a variety of volunteer opportunities to offer a helping hand to the most vulnerable in our community, such as:
Unsheltered Community: distributing “personal care bags” to those on the streets and necessary items for survival to our neighbors living in homeless camps
Food Distribution: packing and delivering grocery boxes to the many families with food insecurities in our community
Living Water Shower Ministry (https://www.livingwatershowers.org) – distributing clothes, shoes, personal care bags, and snacks to our unsheltered neighbors who come to get a warm shower in LWSM’s mobile shower units
Behind the Scenes: sorting through and organizing clothing donations; putting together personal care bags; various other tasks
What Our Community Says
Handfuls of Purpose is a dedicated group of compassionate, God-fearing individuals who strive to serve their community by sharing the gospel and making a meaningful difference. With a heart for service, they have become invaluable partners to Living Water Shower Ministry, providing clean clothing to neighbors who use our mobile shower facilities. Their work restores dignity and guides others toward building a relationship with Christ, creating lasting spiritual impact.
Being involved with Handfuls of Purpose has been a blessing. It has given me a sense of purpose and the opportunity to help others in need.
Living Water Shower Ministry is incredibly grateful to co-labor the gospel with our partner Handfuls of Purpose. This incredible Christ-centered ministry works alongside us to serve our neighbors, restore dignity, and offer hope. We do this together by meeting real needs, creating relationships with our neighbors in need, and offering the Living Water in the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Handfuls of Purpose has been a tremendous and consistent partner serving our Greater Frederick neighbors. We are beyond thankful for their willingness to serve, endless prayers, and relentless effort to share “Love thy Neighbor”. We continue to labor together and look to the future of our Kingdom partnership!
Handfuls of Purpose has provided me with the resources and support I needed during a difficult time. Their dedication to helping others is truly inspiring.
The Glory of Christ is on full display in Handfuls of Purpose. Handfuls of Purpose provides clothes, hygiene products and other personal items to those living without a home. In cooperation with the Living Water Shower Ministry, Handfuls of Purpose is a grassroots ministry that provides much needed services, faith-based counsel, and love to those among us who are much less fortunate. My volunteer work with HOP has been enriching, and through my service work with them, I am reminded in Mark 10:45 that “For even the son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.” It is evident that God’s Grace and Love are at the center of the Handfuls of Purpose Ministry.
Through Handfuls of Purpose, I have found a way to give back and make a difference. The sense of community and purpose is unparalleled.
